Raymond Henry Freeman, 74, of Glenwood, NM passed away Friday 12, 2021. At his request, cremation of his remains under the direction of Bright Funeral Home will occur, followed by a private ceremony and celebration of his life.
Raymond was born in Silver City, NM on January 30, 1947. He grew up in the Cliff/ Mule Creek area of Grant County, on the family ranches. Not long after he graduated from Cliff High School, he married Pamela Taylor and they had two sons, Chad and Scott. Raymond was a US Army Veteran and served his country during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged, he worked for Brown and Root Industrial Services and lived in Hachita, NM. From there he returned to ranching and made it his career. In 2001 he married Durelle L. Wand from Fort Worth, TX with whom he spent the rest of his life, until he died peacefully at their home in Grant County, after a hard- fought battle with COPD. Raymond was a fun-loving cowboy, enjoyed life and lived it mostly on his own terms. He was preceded in death by his father Alexander Raymond Freeman and mother, Mary Florence Freeman of Cliff, NM.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Durelle; son Raymond Chad and his wife Jackie, and son Michael Scott, five grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
