Mary Ouida Stone, 96 of Santa Clara, NM passed away December 29, 2020. A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Bright Funeral Home. She was born in Deming, New Mexico in 1924, and raised in Fort Bayard, New Mexico. She graduated from Teachers High School in Silver City, NM. Ouida enjoyed fishing with her husband Brub, and often worked alongside him at his many contractor jobs. Her love of her community of Santa Clara, also known as Central, New Mexico back when, was apparent by her many contributions and close friendships. She was a strong and resolute woman and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her granddaughter, Julie Carpenter; grandson, Brian Koger (Jamie); Son-in-law, Gary Koger; great-granddaughters, Katy Dethloff (Andrew) and Ashton Hartley (Jonathan). She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack, and Katherine Porcher LaMell; sister Peg Aker; her husband Brub Stone, and her daughter, Kathy Ann Koger.
