Kathryn L. Gadberry 82, of Silver City passed away March 26, 2020 peacefully at her home surrounded by family. A private burial will be held at Fort Bayard National Cemetery on March 30, 2020.
Kathryn, known to all as “Kay”, was a fun and loving individual to all she knew. Her three girls and grandchildren were the love of her life next to her husband Freddy to whom she was married to for 67 years. Kay was born in Silver City, NM to Oscar and Lucy Salars in August of 1937 and married Freddy in October of 1952. They enjoyed square dancing for many years in both Deming and Silver City. Fishing and camping with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren is all she ever wanted but also immersed herself in the activities of her three girls while becoming a Girl Scout leader for 15 years as well as a Rainbow Mom and Sunday School teacher. She was everything to her daughters. Freddy and Kay were rarely apart and enjoyed each other every minute. She is survived by her husband Freddy, three daughters and their husbands whom she loved and enjoyed - Chris Jackson (Robert), Kathy Bullington (Curtis) and Carrie Brown (Eric). Grandchildren Keith Bullington, Erika Grussendorf, Jade Brown, Brandon Brown, Christopher Brown, Martine Brown and Stephen Brown as well as her beloved great grandchildren Isaac Grussendorf, and twins Penny and Piper Grussendorf. She will be missed by her family and friends and there will be no one ever like her again to any of them.
