Obituary

Gordon “Wayne” Capshaw 67 of Silver City, New Mexico passed away on March 31, 2021 at Gila Regional Medical Center.  A Memorial Service will be held on April 22, 2021 at 11:00am at Silver City Church of God located at 3804 Highway 180 in Silver City, NM.   Amalia Andazola will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery.  Wayne was born in Ray, Arizona in January 1954.  Graduated in 1972 from Ray High School.  He then did computer programming classes online at DeVry University.  Wayne was married to Josefa Garcia Capshaw on September 27, 1975, forty-five years of marriage.  Wayne worked as a Safety Trainer for Freeport McMorran for 22 years.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, flying model airplanes, golf and playing his Bass and Piano.  He played his bass in the Praise team at Silver City Church of God.  Wayne Capshaw is survived by spouse Josefa Garcia Capshaw, son Jeramee Capshaw, daughter Natalie Wade (William), four grand children Brandon Capshaw, Sara Acosta, Dareios Wade and Seryiah Wade and one great grandchild Marianna Capshaw.  His father John Ray Capshaw and stepmother Christy Capshaw, stepsister Jenny O’Dell (Doug), and stepbrother Teddy Westfall and several nieces and nephews.  Wayne is preceded in death by his mother Joyce Marie Huffaker and his brother Ray Dalton Capshaw.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Church of God located at 3804 Highway 180, Silver City, N.M. 88061.
