Nada Portillo 89, of Silver City, New Mexico passed away on August 15, 2019 at her residence. She will lie-in-state from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A Funeral Service will be held at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Friday August 23, 2019 at 10:00 AM.
Nada was born in Silver City, New Mexico to Charles and Ethlyn (Lee) Stailey on September 5, 1929. She is survived by her Son Jay Huber (Cindy) of Sandia Park, NM. Daughter Janeigh Huber and special friend Susie Maldonado of Silver City, her Brothers Gene Stailey (Kay) of Mimbres, Bill Stailey (Carolyn) of Spanish Fork, UT. Don Stailey (Linda) of Gila, and Gary Stailey (Marie) of Silver City. Her Sister Leda (Joan) Pearce (Charles) of Dallas TX. Half Sister Charlene Faust (Billy) of Rio Rancho, and Sally Turner (Jerry) of Ruidoso, and three Grandsons Ky Huber of Austin, TX. Tanner Huber of Sandia Park, NM. and Aaron Huber of Sandia Park, NM.
Nada went to school in Gila, New Mexico and after completing the Eighth Grade she later married Archie Huber, who owned the Silver City School Buses, and became his bookkeeper all while being a great housewife. She was an incredible cook and baker, enjoyed sewing and loved thrift shops. Nada was always looking to help others in need and always had an open home to anyone who needed somewhere to stay. She was also the Missionary of her Church. Nada married Manny Portillo and continued all the roles of the great housewife she was.
She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Ethlyn Stailey, her husbands Archie Huber and Manny Portillo, her Daughter Joan Huber, Son Gene Huber, and Stepson Jerry Wayne Taylor.
